Advanced Breathwork Therapy

Breathwork is a scientifically proven, natural and effective way to reclaim your peace of mind, enhance your overall health and boost athletic performance. With the guidance of a trained breathwork instructor, focusing on physiological mechanisms, carbon dioxide chemoreceptor sensitivity, and the mind-body interface of the breath, you can create long-term changes, allowing you to flourish.

All sessions will be delivered by Penny, a breathwork instructor, nature-lover, NHS Psychiatrist and retired international competitive swimmer. Penny is a strong advocate of using functional breathing to improve your overall well-being. She believes that the way we breathe is a critical factor in our physical and emotional health and is passionate about sharing this knowledge with others. Penny provides valuable tools, empowering individuals to manage immediate symptoms and foster longer-term physiological changes.

Breathwork is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Penny would like to make it clear that when providing this services she is not working in the capacity of a medical practitioner or psychiatrist. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health care provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or treatment and before undertaking a new health care regimen.

In your introductory session (which is 60 mins) Penny will complete a breath assessment and identify your unique needs, challenges and aims, before introducing you to some simple techniques which offer profound benefits. You will then be guided through personalised breath-work sessions tailored to your specific situation and goals.

Penny is particularly passionate about helping people with anxiety and panic to reconnect with their breath, teaching them holistic breathwork for symptomatic support and longer term equanimity.
Breathwork can help regulate the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety while improving focus and emotional resilience. Penny will introduce you to techniques to gain instant relief during moments of heightened anxiety. These skills will empower you to return to a state of tranquility, helping you face daily challenges with confidence.

You will also learn practices which, when performed regularly, create longer term changes helping people to manage their anxiety symptoms for the future.

Whatever your passion, we’ll tailor a programme to suit your specific needs and rehabilitation journey.

SLEEP Breathwork is a simple yet powerful tool for improving sleep quality by calming the nervous system and guiding the body into a restful state. Through conscious, controlled breathing — especially techniques that promote slow nasal breathing and activate the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) response — breathwork helps lower stress hormones, reduce nighttime overthinking, and support deeper, more restorative sleep. It can be especially helpful for those who struggle with falling asleep, waking frequently, or feeling tired even after a full night’s rest.

Breathwork can be a valuable support for those managing respiratory disorders such as asthma, COPD, or chronic hyperventilation. By focusing on gentle, efficient breathing patterns, breathwork helps retrain the respiratory system to function more optimally.

Penny assists clients to reduce over-breathing, increase carbon dioxide tolerance, and improve oxygen delivery to cells, which can ease symptoms like breathlessness, wheezing, and chest tightness. With regular practice, individuals often experience improved lung function, greater control over their breathing, and a reduced reliance on dysfunctional patterns that may worsen symptoms.

Breathwork doesn’t replace medical treatment but can be a powerful complementary tool for improving quality of life and breathing ease.

Breathwork is a game-changer for athletic performance, helping athletes train smarter, recover faster, and perform at their peak. By improving breathing efficiency and increasing tolerance to carbon dioxide, techniques can enhance oxygen delivery to muscles, boost endurance, and delay fatigue. Breathwork also sharpens mental focus and helps regulate the nervous system, allowing athletes to stay calm and composed under pressure.
